Compost Site
The City of Sartell Compost Site is located off of County Road 4. To get to the site from Sartell City Hall, take Pine Cone Road South until you reach the
Compost Site Permit
The City of Sartell requires that a Compost Site Permit is displayed in the front windshield of your car to gain access to the site.

stop sign at Heritage Drive and Pine Cone Road Intersection. Take a right onto County Road 133 and go about 2 miles until you reach County Road 4. Take a right onto County Road 4, and then another right on 30th Avenue North. You will see the Compost Site on your right. A map to the compost site is available towards the bottom of this page.

Rules and Regulations
Map to the Compost Site

  1. Everybody entering compost site must first register with attendant.
  2. Must be a Sartell city resident. (Compost sticker required)
  3. Clean yard waste accepted only! (leaves, grass clippings, and garden waste)
  4. NO rocks, concrete or other foreign material will be accepted with yard waste.
  5. All bags used to transport compost material should be emptied and put in the dumpster or recycled.
  6. Branches and yard waste must be separated.
  7. All loads entering site must be covered to prevent loss of any waste while in route to compost site.
  8. After unloading all trailers, pickup boxes, etc... must be swept clean.
  9. No branches over 3" in size will be accepted.
  10. When wanting finished compost, only equivalent to one pickup box load per week may be taken.
  11. Commercial Haulers and lawn service companies are not eligible to use this site.
  12. Residents caught purchasing permits for other than their own household vehicles will forfeit their permit(s) for the year and all monies paid.

Compost Site Permits
New vehicle permits are available at the Sartell City Hall after March 17, 2008. These stickers are color-coded and will need to be purchased before using the compost site. Stickers will not be available at the compost site and entrance will not be granted without a sticker.

The compost site stickers will need to be displayed in the front driver side window of your vehicle. If you need additional stickers or replacement stickers, they can also be purchased at Sartell City Hall for a charge of $5.00. (Please put information for additional stickers on form below. The city reserves the right to check license plate numbers to ensure that the vehicles are registered to you.)

2008 Sartell Compost Site stickers will be available for sale at Sartell City Hall after March 17, 2008.  If you wish to purchase a sticker through the mail, please send $25.00 or any additional monies if additional stickers are needed, and the Compost Site Permit form (.pdf) to:
